Extended Learning Program

What Is the Extended Learning Program?

The Extended Learning Program is a resource-setting program for identified gifted special education students within the Andover, Kansas school district #385. Each student has an individual educational plan. There is a classroom for each elementary site. Students are placed in this program based on testing by a licensed school psychologist for their academic and cognitive scores set by the Kansas State Board of Education.

What Do the Students Do During ELP Services?
Students earn points for completing weekly obligations.  These points will be used for special auctions held throughout the year. Students spend time in the ELP classroom working on projects which usually include research, practice using logical, creative thinking and problem solving skills.  They work both independently and cooperatively as they complete Think Lab cards and solve Stories With Holes.
